Dishonesty in pnline rentals

Is it just me, but are there problems with online or kiosk rentals? Sometimes the unit is rented under a woman's name, but the photo ID clearly shows a man. When you try to reach them, they're uncooperative...since they lied from the start. With today's tech making deception easier, what real options do we have to stop it?

An acquaintance of mine pointed this out a while back. Essentially it's a scam which starts with a price that's too good to be true. With that said, I'm not sure what they get out of it?

Hey @Johnie west, you’re not imagining it. Online rentals can definitely attract that kind of shady behavior. A lot of operators now require ID verification that matches the name on the account and sometimes even a credit card check to cut down on scams. Have you considered adding those layers to your process?
