A few of my clients are inquiring about climate control units and I'm thinking to go for smaller units, considering the types of items typically sent for storage. However, most of existing clients prefer it big for their non-climate control units. Any ideas about costs and trends that can help me make a decision?

This is interesting because I thought the trend leans towards smaller, more specialized spaces.

Cost-wise, @LockerLegend is right about climate-controlled units being more expensive per square foot.
Think $50-$100+ per square foot for construction vs $25-$50 for standard!
But what's good is that units like this allow you to charge a premium, about 20-50% more than the standard units!
So you can do your math and discover what's an acceptable profit margin.

@KeeperKarl You're right to think about costs. Installing climate control is a significant upfront capital expenditure. You're basically building a giant, specialized warehouse fridge/heater! And the ongoing operating costs (electricity bills!) are substantially higher than for standard units
